Long-term neuro-psychiatric care |
At the inception of the Huron Street Clinic, the predeccesor to this program, we accepted patients with chronic functional symptoms. Neuropsychiatric follow up, medication management and psychological therapies are still provided to these patients. Owing to our limited resources, we are no longer able to accept patients to this service Please note that this program is currently full. We are not able to support any new patients for long-term neuropsychiatric care. Please consult your local mental health services for general psychiatric care. We continue to try to attract suitable workforce to restart this service. |

Functional Seizures Clinic |
Through this 12-week program, patients will initially receive education as to the causes of functional seizures and the physiological changes that occur during these events. Subsequently, a course of cognitive treatment will be administered, combined with education on ares including the medical treatments used for functional seizures, and other community resources. |

Behaviour Motor Shaping |
Physical therapy for patients with functional motor disorders, including functional tremors, functional weakness and functional dystonia. Specialized physical therapy approaches are followed, as well as behavioural approaches, including Desensitization and Exposure and Response Prevention |

FND Education Program |
This is an extensive educational program providing patients with up-to-date knowledge on how functional symptoms happen, treatment, and what resources are available to assist with some of their symptoms. This program is based on the premises that (1) knowledge has an important therapeutic role in FND (2) Limited knowledge can lead to unwarranted investigations and unnecessary treatments |

Treatment of FND, sensory type |
This is an 8 session program that provides an understanding of the of the sensory system and the processes of sensitization and desensitization. The education section of this program outlines how sensory symptoms of FND are approached, and is focused on the use of mindfulness-based strategies in the management of sensory symptoms. |

Behavioural Management of Functional Speech and Language Disorder |
Those patients who are likely to benefit from this program will be offered up to 8 sessions of treatment. Approaches are based on Speech Therapy techniques and Behavioural Psychotherapy, with a significant educational component. |

CBT for Irritable Bowel Syndrom |
This is a group program for patients with IBS, a highly prevailed functional condition with limited resources for treatment. |

ACT - CBT Program |
This service is available only to patients attached to the Long-term neuropsychiatric care program, who are likely to benefit from understanding ACT-based strategies, such as the role of language expressions in bodily experience and in cognitive processing of stimuli and processes of response regulation. Please note that this program is currently full. We are not able to support any new patients intake to this program. Please consult local psychological services in your community for alternatives. |

Friendship Bench Program |
IN DEVELOPMENT In collaboration with FND Hope Canada, we are working on developing a peer support program for patients who completed some of the services offered through our Society. We are hopeful that peer support and guidance will be of value to patients with lower access to other forms of care |

N DEVELOPMENT This is a consultation service for BC Health professionals treating patients with Functional Neurological Disorder, from outside of the Victoria area. The intention is to give recommendation to clinicians on the management of patients with no access to FND services. |
